Meet the Founders
Alex Miltenberger, PhD – Co-Founder & CEO
Alex is a geophysicist with 10 years of professional and research experience in mineral exploration and other subsurface sciences. Growing up in a rural community and inspired by the great outdoors, he decided to pursue a BS in Applied Geophysics at Michigan Tech. After later earning his PhD in Geophysics at Stanford University and working on field programs for Rio Tinto, Alex co‑founded ExploreTech to bring AI‑driven exploration to mining.
Tyler Hall, PhD Co-Founder & President
Tyler is a geologist with 12 years of experience across exploration, project evaluation, and production operations. Starting with a BA in Geological Sciences from Hartwick College, he was hungry to join the mining world. Working with Freeport-McMoran, he built up a deep appreciation for the mining world. Later, he earned his PhD in Geological Sciences from Stanford University and is now co-founder of Exploretech and can regularly be found chairing at top mining conferences around the country.

2013 to 2016 Frustrated by clipboards in a cloud-first world
Alex and Tyler spent years working and learning in active mines and exploration camps. They saw how most new software was designed for the industry, not by it, leaving crews stuck with pen-and-paper workflows that severally hampered the speed and efficiency of the industry they love so much.

2017 At Stanford Mineral X
Alex & Tyler meet and spend their PHD’s researching and refining the technology which was to become the foundation of Explore Tech's AI exploration engine.

2020 Hitting “gold” at Rio Tinto
Thier predictive model directs a drill test that strikes paydirt after a decade of failed attempts, proving that their models could be a part of the digital‑era gold rush in mining.

2023 ExploreTech is founded
Committing to evolving the exploration industry, Alex and Tyler build a full‑stack platform that fuses geophysics, data science, and AI. The first pilots prove a two‑year discovery can be compressed to just 60 days.

2023 to 2024 Platform rolled out across XXX exploration projects
Real‑world exploration projects allow ExploreTech to refine their methodology while continuing to validate 10× acceleration in data collection and interpretation.
