Pressing forward at Cuddy Mountain

Inversions, faster.

Scout Discoveries is an ambitious explorer, with their flagship Cuddy Mountain property in Idaho. Scout moves fast, so ExploreTech teamed up with them as soon as their magnetic survey was complete. The goal was simple. Create a high-resolution, 3D geophysical inversion as quickly as possible so they can follow up on promising targets in the field.

Only possible with cloud computing.

Geophysical inversions are tricky. As the resolution scales up (i.e. more grid cells), we need bigger and bigger computers. But inversions require a lot of parameter tuning. When it takes forever to run an inversion, it’s hard to run enough trials to get the parameters right. Fortunately, the Engine, ExploreTech’s cloud computing platform, makes scaling computation a breeze. Instead of running one inversion at a time, ExploreTech ran hundreds and then was able to select and deliver the one that looked the best.

Perfect for aggressive explorers looking to move fast.

Scout is pushing aggressively at Cuddy Mountain. When they collect mag data as they did, they need a fast, high-quality turnaround. That’s where computing technology like the ExploreTech Engine comes in. Nobody has the combination of geology, exploration, and computing like ExploreTech.
